2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed 19-of-29 passes for 214 yards in the Niners' 19-12 Divisional Round victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The hype surrounding the 23-year-old had grown to epic proportions after he lit the Seahawks up for four total touchdowns in the Wild Card Round. But, alas, Purdy's streak of seven consecutive games with multiple touchdown passes came to an end against a superior defense. The Cowboys' front seven loaded the box, slowed down the 49ers' run game, and got to Purdy to the tune of four hits and two sacks. The rookie avoided a couple of sacks with his legs. While he mostly made good decisions and did not turn the ball over, one of his passes that was tipped at the line went in and out of the hands of Dallas CB Trevon Diggs. Purdy advances to face the Philadelphia Eagles, another formidable defense, in the NFC Championship Game, where he might have the same struggles.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
