2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has a tougher matchup in Week 16 as the Niners host the Washington Commanders. The Commanders' pass defense is competent in coverage. Their safety duo of Kamren Curl and Darrick Forrest is one of the best. The Commanders' pass rush can bring the heat. Montez Sweat has made 7.0 sacks this season, and the team ranks seventh in sack percentage. The Commanders' defense profiles similarly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defense Purdy saw in Week 14, against whom he threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns. But Purdy also got away with passes that could have been intercepted in Weeks 14 and 15. One of these days, his luck will turn. Still, Purdy is reliable at executing the 49ers' offense, and he should be a viable starting fantasy QB1 and a top-notch QB2.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
