Brett Gardner Hits Clutch Home Run In Victory
7 years agoAfter they lost starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka early due to stiffness in his hamstrings, the New York Yankees remained deadlocked in a 1-1 ballgame with the New York Mets at Citi Field. The game stretched into the eighth inning still tied, but that came to an end. With Gleyber Torres on base, veteran outfielder Brett Gardner drilled a two-run home run to right off of Jacob deGrom, who was still on the mound for the home team. The 34-year-old has picked up his hitting as of late following a rough start, now hitting .333 across his last 15 games.
