Brandon Woodruff Undergoes Surgery, Expected To Miss Most Of 2024
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) had surgery on Friday to fix the anterior capsule in his right shoulder and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2024 season, according to the team. The Brewers were hoping for good news on Woodruff heading into next year, but this isn't it. The 30-year-old is an anchor of the Brewers' staff when healthy, but they'll have to make due without him for next season. He made only 11 starts in 2023 due to his shoulder injury and went 5-1 with a career-best 2.28 ERA (3.60 FIP), 0.82 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched. Milwaukee continues to say that Woodruff remains a big part of their future, so expect them to consider extending him at some point with 2024 being his final year of team control. Fantasy managers can take him off their draft boards for next season.
