The Toronto Blue Jays fired manager Charlie Montoyo on Wednesday, according to sources. Bench coach John Schneider will take over as the club's interim manager for the rest of the season. Toronto entered Wednesday's action with a 46-42 record and in fourth place in the American League East despite lofty expectations entering 2022. They've also lost nine of their last 11 games and are 15 1/2 games behind the first-place New York Yankees. Montoyo went 236-236 in parts of four seasons as the skipper of the Blue Jays. The 56-year-old went 67-95 in his first season before going 32-28 to secure a playoff spot in the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. Toronto went 91-71 in 2021 and missed the postseason by one game.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
