Trey Yesavage Strikes Out Nine on Friday
Trey Yesavage continued to impress on Friday evening. Facing Double-A Reading, the top pitching prospect in Toronto fired five innings of two-run ball with four hits and no walks. He struck out nine. This was his second-straight contest, tallying nine strikeouts. Since posting a rather high 6.35 ERA with a 1.41 WHIP through his first 17 innings at Double-A, Yesavage has begun to flip the script. In each of his last three starts, the right-hander has struck out 23 hitters across 13 innings to the tune of a 2.06 ERA and a near-perfect 0.62 WHIP. He has not allowed a walk over this span. Earlier this summer, he flashed elite upside at Low-A and High-A, posting a 2.13 ERA with a 0.85 WHIP. While he may not debut this season, he will likely be a popular pitcher to target in redraft leagues in 2026 given his elite strikeout upside.
