2 years agoThe Carolina Panthers have listed quarterback Baker Mayfield (ankle) as doubtful for Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. Mayfield did not take part in an official practice on Friday, and even if he's active on Sunday, he would serve as the backup to P.J. Walker in Week 6 action. The 27-year-old suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 5 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and it wouldn't be a surprise at all if he missed multiple games. If Mayfield is inactive, the Panthers would likely elevate Jacob Eason from the practice squad to serve as Walker's backup. Mayfield has played poorly in his first five games with the Panthers and isn't guaranteed to get his starting job back once he's healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
