Austin Riley Crushes Ninth Home Run
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Thursday's 9-3 win against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Tennessee native doubled, walked twice, and scored thrice in the massive effort. Riley was locked in for the second outing of his team's double-header, knocking in two batters with his double in the fourth, and launching his ninth long ball of the season -- a two-run shot -- in the seventh. He wasn't as impressive in Atlanta's loss earlier in the day, but he'd still pick up two singles and score a run there, too, in four at-bats. That's at least one hit in five straight games for him, bringing his overall season triple slash to a solid .280/.339/.444 with ten doubles, 32 RBI, and 30 runs scored. He's getting better results thus far than in 2024, despite a slight step back with his quality of contact.
