Austin Martin Falls To Blue Jays At No. 5
The Toronto Blue Jays selected Vanderbilt shortstop Austin Martin with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. Martin was projected by many to be the second overall pick in this draft, but he fell a tad because of an injury this spring. He was selected in the 37th round by the Indians out of high school in 2017. The appeal with Martin is the fact that he started games at six different positions as a freshman and started 2019 at second base before shifting to the hot corner.
