Antonio Gibson Placed On Injured Reserve
2 years agoThe Washington Commanders placed running back Antonio Gibson (foot, knee) on Injured Reserve on Thursday, so he will not finish out the regular season in Week 18 against the Dallas Cowboys. In corresponding moves, the team signed running back Jaret Patterson from the practice squad to the active roster and signed running back Reggie Bonnafon to the practice squad. Gibson's injuries aren't serious, so he should have a normal offseason. The 24-year-old took a back seat to rookie Brian Robinson Jr. for most of the year and finishes his third NFL season with a career-low 149 carries for 546 yards and three touchdowns while adding a career-high 46 catches (58 targets) for 353 yards and two more TDs in 15 games (six starts). Jonathan Williams will be Robinson's direct backup to close things out on Sunday.
