Anthony Rendon Going Back On The Injured List
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (hamstring) is going back on the injured list for the third time this season on Tuesday with a left hamstring strain. It's been the story of his season in 2021. Rendon just hasn't been able to get going because of the injuries this year, hitting a disappointing .240/.329/.382 with just six home runs, 24 runs scored and 34 RBI in 217 at-bats for the Halos. The good news is that Rendon will have the All-Star break to recover, and his fantasy managers will be hoping for a much better second half without all the injuries. Continue to stash him everywhere. Infielder Jack Mayfield was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, but he's hit just .168 in 150 big league plate appearances. Jose Rojas is starting at third and hitting ninth on Tuesday against Boston Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, but Luis Rengifo could also see some playing time at the hot corner with Rendon sidelined.
