Andrew Painter Strikes Out Three in Latest Start at Triple-A
Andrew Painter pitched well in his second start at Triple-A Lehigh Valley this past Thursday, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings of work. The former first-rounder continues to work his way back to form after an elbow injury and eventual Tommy John surgery kept him out of action in 2023 and 2024, but after showing well in the Arizona Fall League last year and with six starts under his belt so far in 2025, the 6-foot-7 hurler is getting ever closer to making his big league debut. The call could come after a few more starts at Triple-A, working up to 71 pitches his last time out. MLB's fifth-ranked prospect brings a big-time fastball that sits in the high 90s and can touch 100, along with a curve, changeup, and slider that should enable him to be a solid fantasy contributor from the outset, making him one of the top prospect stashes for managers who have an available bench or NA spot.
