Andrew McCutchen Is Fine
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen (hand) is fine after he was hit by a pitch in Grapefruit League action on Sunday against the Minnesota Twins, and his removal from the contest was purely precautionary. McCutchen is no longer in his prime, but he's expected to be Pittsburgh's starting right fielder to open the 2023 season after spending his first nine MLB seasons with the team, including five straight All-Star seasons from 2011-15. It's no secret that the 36-year-old is in decline after slashing .237/.316/.384 with a career-low .700 OPS, 17 home runs, 69 RBI, 66 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 580 plate appearances and 134 games for the Brewers in 2022. A move to the rebuilding Pirates will further drop McCutchen's 2023 fantasy value.
