Alexander Mattison Will Miss Week 13 After Appendectomy
4 years agoMinnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison (illness) has been downgraded to out for Week 13 against the Jaguars. Mattison had appendicitis and underwent successful surgery, according to a source. The 22-year-old could also be forced to miss Week 14 against the Buccaneers. With Mattison sidelined list Sunday, expect Ameer Abdullah to serve as Dalvin Cook's primary backup. The Vikings also have Michael Boone on the active roster. Cook, who is second in the NFL in rushing yards behind the Titans' Derrick Henry, will be facing a Jacksonville defense that has given up 10 rushing touchdowns and the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. He tweaked his ankle in the Week 12 win over the Panthers but stayed in the game and is fine for this weekend. He's a must-start elite RB1 for fantasy managers.
