AJ Pollock Not Playing Saturday
3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder AJ Pollock is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Pollock is out of the lineup for the fourth time in the last six games despite going 3-for-9 with a home run in his last two games played. Still, the 34-year-old veteran is still hitting just .225/.252/.358 on the year with three home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base in 34 games in his first season in Chicago. Andrew Vaughn is in left field and is batting second, while Gavin Sheets gets the start in right field and will hit sixth against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen. Vaughn has been hot in the last 14 days, hitting .298 (14-for-47) with two home runs and nine RBI. Meanwhile, Sheets is 4-for-24 (.167) with no homers, no RBI and four strikeouts in his last eight games played.
