AJ Allmendinger has had one of the fastest cars on the race track at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, as the No. 16 Chevrolet was second-quickest in practice on Saturday morning and wound up with the 10th-fastest lap in qualifying later that day. Now the question becomes, will The Dinger be able to back up that speed in the race on Sunday? When interviewed after laying down his qualifying lap, AJ stated, "I think it's more guessing on as it gets warmer what the balance will be. It has one-lap speed, but I think it had good pace but we can make it better." As far as track record goes at Texas, Allmendinger has struggled quite a bit; over his last 10 Cup Series starts at the track, he hasn't been able to finish better than 16th. On other 1.5-mile tracks in 2025, though, he has been better, to the tune of an eighth-place finish at Las Vegas and a seventh-place result at Homestead. If you're going to use Allmendinger ($6,600) in DraftKings contests, you should use sparingly in large-field tournament situations.--Jordan McAbee
