Adrian Sampson To Start Tuesday Night
Adrian Sampson is expected to make the start against the Pittsburgh Pirates with an open spot in their rotation due to the injury to left-handed starting pitcher Drew Smyly (arm). Sampson is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 22 innings through two starts and four relief appearances. He had a quality start on April Fool's Day against the Astros in a hard-luck loss, allowing just one run and four hits over six innings. He has the potential to be a decent AL-only fantasy option at some point, but for now he is only worth a look in the very deepest of those formats until he stops yo-yoing between the 'pen and rotation.
