NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes for Richmond - Cook Out 400 (2025)

Kyle Busch - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR practice speeds, lap averages and notes for the 2025 Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. Use the NASCAR stats and data to build DFS lineups on DraftKings. Kyle Busch was fastest.

The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Richmond Raceway on Friday afternoon/evening in preparation for the upcoming Cook Out 400 on Saturday night.

The 38-car field was split into two groups for practice, with each group getting 25 minutes on track. Although it is worth noting that Group 2 got a few extra minutes to practice due to a spin by Joey Logano.

Below you will find the two groups, key notes from the practice session, as well as the practice speeds for all drivers.

Important Practice Notes

Joey Logano - The No. 22 Ford was extremely slow in practice on Friday, and then things got worse for Joey Logano, as he had a tire go down and he hit the wall. It's not certain that Logano will have to go to a backup car, but if he does, he will have to start the Cook Out 400 from the rear.

Carson Hocevar - Late in the second session, Carson Hocevar spun out on the front stretch. He didn't hit anything and there was no noticable damage to the No. 77 Chevrolet.

Denny Hamlin - During one of his early laps in practice, Denny Hamlin intentionally slowed down for a bit to give him some space on the track. This negatively affected his lap averages.
