MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers - DraftKings Advice for 6/25/15

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $50,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!  Sign up Now and we'll give you free access to RotoBaller's Premium DFS Lineup Picks and Tools (a $29.99 value). Games start a little earlier today so be sure to check your lineups through the day. There are plenty of opportunities for undervalued players to claim their stake as DFS superstars but who will make the cut. The list of which players have the most potential today has been made but it is up to you to make the final decision. I wish you the best of luck today, do not forget to follow and tweet at me @JakeFinnen22 throughout the day for questions, comments, or concerns regarding my analysis, article or anything in general.

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Dbacks vs. LHP Jorge De La Rosa

This should come as no surprise as Jorge De La Rosa is sacrificing above .500 SLG% to opposing LHB. Not only that, but a .325 wOBA and .408 SLG% to RHB makes De La Rosa a top candidate for pitcher to avoid in the tournaments today. When Paul Goldschmidt, Welington Castillo, A.J. Pollock, and Nick Ahmed are all above or close to producing a .400 wOBA when facing LHP, the favorable ball park in Colorado makes the Diamondbacks the most dangerous team for today. The Diamondbacks are also sixth in the league in wOBA on the road which only helps their already weighted case.

Tigers vs. LHP Carlos Rodon

Under no circumstances is Rodon a bad pitcher, but he has a tough matchup with the powerful Tigers. The Tigers RHB have been able to pick apart opposing LHP. Rodon has struggled when facing RHB this season, donating a .355 wOBA and .395 SLG% to RHB this season, his K/9 ratio also drops from 10.71 when facing LHB to 7.26 against RHB. Power bats like Miguel Cabrera, Jose Iglesias, Victor Martinez, James McCann, and Rajai Davis have proven stats vs. LHP and all have a wRC+ of at least 161.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Target for DraftKings

Jacob DeGrom (SP, NYM) - $10,100

While these picks are polar opposites when it comes to price, they both have promising matchups that should not be overlooked. DeGrom is facing the Brewers in the second most favorable park to hitters. Do not let this discourage you as the Brewers are 28th in the league in home scoring with 82 wRC+. With a K/9 ratio of 9.27 against RHB and 8.87 when facing LHB, DeGrom is going against the 25th ranked team in K% vs. RHP with an abysmal 21.6%. DeGrom is a must-start today and his low wOBA of .212 vs RHB and .269 vs LHB only helps his case.

Carlos Frias (SP, LAD) - $4,500

This is a big risk option for today but should prove to be the top value pitcher. The Cubs are the second to last team when it comes to K% when facing RHP with 25%. Carlos Frias is also wielding a .286 wOBA/ .344 SLG % to opposing RHB and .389 wOBA / .477 SLG % to LHB. His 5.88 K/9 ratio to RHB and 4.15 K/9 ratio to LHB should help Frias keep the Cubs from scoring as they are 22nd in wRC+ with 91 against RHP. Frias has the matchup he needs to massively outproduce his value.

DFS Infielders to Target for DraftKings

Jose Iglesias (SS/3B, DET) - $3,300

Jose Iglesias is one of the RHB on the Tigers that is going to have no problem making contact off the LHP. Where Rodon has struggled fits perfectly into Iglesias’ expertise of producing hits off LHP. He currently is at .471 wOBA / .587 SLG % / 208 wRC+ when facing LHP. His value is fairly low for a player with high potential in a favorable matchup.

Paul Goldschmidt (1B, ARI) - $6,300

His price was a major concern but of all times for it to be high, today will be a tough day not to take Goldschmidt. He has been so consistent which is exactly what every DFS and fantasy player desires from any player. He has an incredible stat line with .479 wOBA / .695 SLG% / 206 wRC+ vs. LHP is enticing enough to pay up for the coveted infielder. His matchup with Jorge De La Rosa is only more desirable which is why he should be taken today. Do not be surprised if you see Goldschmidt tally multiple hits this game.

Matt Carpenter (3B, STL) - $4,300

Matt Carpenter has his ideal matchup today against RHP Dan Haren who is giving up a .331 wOBA / .474 SLG% to LHB. Carpenter has annihilated RHP this season and this matchup looks to be no different. His .420 wOBA / .543 SLG% / 172 wRC+ is exactly what you want to see when looking for a 3B.

Brandon Belt (1B, SF) - $3,700

The rest of these options add a risk factor for price but still have great potential. A .380 wOBA is impressive enough but add a .526 SLG % and 149 wRC+ and you have yourself a solid option at 1B if Goldschmidt is too expensive. When the opposing pitcher, James Shields, is giving up a .375 wOBA and .515 SLG %, you can expect major production from LHB and especially Belt. He is the top LHB on the Giants and that should show today.

Ivan DeJesus (2B/SS, CIN) - $2,200

This adds risk due to the opportunity that DeJesus is given the chance to play. His batting stat line is deserving a starting spot which is usually sporadic as DeJesus can fill nearly any spot on the field. A .393 wOBA / .550 SLG % / 151 wRC+ should scare any opposing pitcher. He faces A.J. Burnett and his .291 wOBA / .351 SLG % against RHB. This matchup may fall to Burnett but DeJesus is more than capable of making contact or even homering against Burnett.

Enrique “Kike” Hernandez (OF/SS) - $2,600

Another cheap option, Enrique Hernandez is a top sleeper for today due to his ability to prey on LHP. This is evident in his .412 wOBA / 600 SLG % / 169 wRC+ against opposing LHP. With Yasiel Puig still unsure on the condition of his hand, look for Hernandez to steal a start and potentially come out as one of the top sleepers on the day. His matchup Jon Lester is giving up a .372 wOBA and .493 SLG % to opposing LHB which only helps Hernandez.

DFS Outfielders to Target for DraftKings

Josh Reddick (OF, OAK) - $4,400

As one of the top hitters in the A’s matchup with Colby Lewis and his .337 wOBA and .471 SLG % against LHB. That should be enough for Reddick to get the start. He adds a .412 wOBA / .559 SLG % / 171 wRC+ which puts Reddick at the top of the list for outfielding options. He has the favorable matchup and is in the sixth most hitter favorable park at the Rangers.

Ben Paulsen (OF, COL) - $3,500

Ben Paulsen is an undervalued outfielder who has the potential of a multiple hit game today. His matchup with Rubby De La Rosa is in his favor as De La Rosa is giving up a .410 wOBA and .591 SLG % to opposing LHB. Ben Paulsen is one of the top matchups against De La Rosa, his .565 SLG % when facing LHP should be a promising stat line that should propel Paulsen into your lineup. Along with a cheaper price, Paulsen is producing 139 wRC+ this season and it should grow against De La Rosa.

Gregor Blanco (OF, SF) - $2.800

As the last option for outfielder, Blanco is surprisingly cheap for his potential. Someone of his value should not be batting .367 wOBA / .455 SLG % / 140 wRC+. This should show you that Blanco is highly undervalued and his low price can free up room for a spectacular hitter in Goldschmidt or a DeGrom/Gray pitching combination. Regardless, Blanco is an extremely low price and should be inserted into most lineups that need the extra space.
