MLB DFS Lineup Picks and Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 5/10/15

Editor’s Note: RotoBaller’s Premium DFS Lineup Picks & Tools help you get an edge for your DraftKings lineups with exclusive access to DFS tools and expert lineup picks. Also our DFS batters vs. pitchers tool helps you analyze today’s matchups and make optimal lineup decisions.

Here are my MLB DFS lineup picks for Mothers Day, May 10th 2015. Always remember to check lineups before finalizing your lineup!

Worth the DraftKings Investment

Bartolo Colon (NYM, SP) $7300

Bartolo Colon is your classic oldie but goodie. The Mets pitching staff is full of young studs and will include top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard starting Tuesday. However, Colon is arguably having the best year out of all of them. It’s quite nice that Colon has landed in the National League East at this point in his career, as he should look forward to pitching against plenty of mediocre offenses. On the year, Colon is sporting a 5-1 record with a 2.90 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. These performances include 5 quality starts and a dominating 9 strikeouts in 7.2 innings last time out against Baltimore.

Look for Colon to continue his winning ways against the light hitting Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. The Mets have played extremely well this year, holding an 18-11 record heading into the weekend, while the Phillies have an anemic offense that ranks second to last in all of baseball. Colon’s opposing starting pitcher is Chad Billingsley, who got beat up for 5 runs in 5 innings in his only outing of the year against a weak hitting Atlanta Braves team. Colon has only been slotted into this position to pitch on Sunday due to the recent injury to Dillon Gee, so take advantage of the opportunity and grab yourself a bargain pick at the pitcher position.

Honorable Mention: Danny Salazar (CLE, SP)

Evan Longoria (TB, 3B) $4500

Moving on to the infielder pick, Longoria has had an incredibly hot bat and looks to be a great pick at third base for Sunday’s slate of games. Longoria started out the season slow but has really picked it up as of late, and now carries a great .293 average, 4 home runs and 12 RBI to go along with 19 runs scored. Longoria briefly dealt with an illness this past week but was clearly feeling good enough to play both Friday and Saturday, continuing his hot streak. He has three home runs in his last three games, going 6 for 10 in that span.

Longoria is also facing Wandy Rodriguez of the Texas Rangers on Sunday, a pitcher who recently returned to their rotation and has allowed 2 home runs in three games pitched. Look for Longoria to have another good game on Sunday, as Rodriguez also has a tendency to walk batters and Longoria has been able to cut down his strikeout rate.

Honorable Mentions: Yasmani Grandal (LAD, C) Victor Martinez (DET, 1B)

Bryce Harper (WAS, OF) $5000

Bryce Harper has really been upping the ante this year, as he seems to have finally broken that final wall between himself and baseball stardom. For the past few seasons he has always teased us with his abilities but never really put together an awesome complete season with consistent day to day hitting for us to rely on. However, his improved power this year makes him an extremely good option at outfield for DraftKings and perhaps even a bit undervalued for Sunday’s slate of games.

There is not a hotter hitter in baseball right now than Harper, as his numbers have been through the roof. On the year, Harper has a .284 average, 10 home runs and 25 RBI to go along with 23 runs scored. He has also hit six home runs in his last three games, going an incredible 8 for 12 during that span. He also has a favorable matchup on Sunday against Alex Wood, whose strikeout rate has dipped dramatically from last year and is pretty much a pitch-to-contact pitcher at this point. Harper’s investment price will likely catch up with him soon so make sure to grab him while his overall value is still good.

Honorable Mention: Giancarlo Stanton (MIA, OF)

DraftKings MLB DFS Sleeper Picks

Alex Guerrero (LAD, 2B) $3500

The scheduled Friday night game between the Dodgers and the Rockies was postponed due to rain. Make sure to have a look at the starting lineups and the rescheduling of Friday night’s game. If two games are going to be played on Saturday, then expect Guerrero to be in that starting lineup for at least one of them. If Guerrero can just get consistent starts in this veteran Dodger lineup, he could be a great play at second base for the rest of the season.

However for now he remains a great sleeper pick at the weak second base position and can provide plenty of value whenever he gets a start. With limited at bats this season, Guerrero has a .350 averaged, 6 home runs and 14 RBI to go along with 8 runs. Guerrero is just a home run machine, and seems to be spotting the ball very well at this point in the season. Playing at Coors Field on Sunday is just the cherry on top.

Honorable Mention: Logan Morrison (SEA, 1B)
