MLB Betting Picks for Wednesday 6/2 - Moneylines and Team Totals

Happy hump day gang! John, aka 'LucidMedia," back with your MLB betting picks on this Wednesday, June 2nd. I hope you had a fantastic Memorial Day Weekend, and a bumping start to the short week yesterday. We've reached the apex of the week, so let's propel ourselves into the weekend with a mid-week heater.

I will be doing these picks for you every Monday and Wednesday going forward this baseball season. Just to let you know, I mainly bet on FanDuel Sportsbook, and that's where the odds below will be coming from. I know not everyone is able to bet on Fanduel, so if you are betting elsewhere just make sure to shop around and find the best odds.

We have been really increasing our sports betting content at RotoBaller, and this year will be no different. Tommy Bell (@BellRoto) will be handling things over in our premium offering. Steve Janik (@stevejanik6) will be carrying the free picks on during the week throughout the season with some help from yours truly. And Kipp Heisterman (@kipppsta) brings you the Monkey Knife Fight picks. Let's make some money and have fun. but remember, please gamble responsibly! The RotoBaller team has had a great Memorial Day Weekend on the books so far, so let's finish it out strong and make some money!

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians

O/U: 8.5 | Moneyline: CLE +172

CWS: Lance Lynn | CLE: Eli Morgan

A little early slate action today as we have the ChiSox trying to salvage a series split in Cleveland. Chicago will have their 'pseudo-ace' on the mound in Lance Lynn, while rookie Eli Morgan will be toeing the rubber for just his second start in his career.

Lynn has been pitching like a Cy Young candidate thus far this year, sporting a 6-1 record and a dominant 1.39 ERA. He's building off his well-pitched 2020 shortened campaign, and I don't see that train stopping today. Morgan will hope to bounce back in his second start, after surrendering 6 earned runs in just 2.2 innings against Toronto on Thursday. The Sox have also gone lighter on the bullpen thus far in this series, and while Garret Crochet likely won't be available, the likes of Codi Heuer and Aaron Bummer should be able to shut the door on this one.

This one is pretty simple, the better team with the better pitcher on the mound pulls this one out. I fully expect this line to move into the 200s, so we're getting solid value hopping on this one early.

Pick: Moneyline - Chicago (-175), FanDuel Sportsbook

St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers

O/U: 8 | Moneyline: LAD -250

STL: Carlos Martinez | LAD: Walker Buehler

It's been difficult to trust the Dodgers this season, despite the 32-23 record. The wheels sputtered against St. Louis last night, but this indicates a nice bounce-back opportunity for LA this evening.

Carlos Martinez will take the bump against the Dodgers tonight, and part of me really wants to believe this is the "potential ace" Martinez Cardinals fans saw from 2016-2019. Unfortunately, I don't think this is the case. Martinez's velocity has dipped since then, and his ERA has subsequently gone up along with it. He's sporting a 4.22 ERA this year, but his xERA (5.24) and xFIP (4.92) are signs for regression. The "BABIP gods" have worked in his favor, with his .232 BABIP against is bound to bounce up eventually, especially when you consider he's giving up line drives at an even higher rate this year than last.

The Dodgers, again, haven't been trustworthy this year. On top of that -250 is far too much juice for me to take their money line. However, they still crush righties, and I'm fully expecting Cody Bellinger to be back in the lineup tonight. Martinez isn't one the give up a ton of homers, but fortunately, the Dodgers are one of the few teams in baseball that depend on the long ball to score.

If you want to take the juice on this money line, I won't be one to stop you. The Dodgers will likely win this game, but my belief is that it will come from knocking Martinez out of the game early and picking apart the shoddy St. Louis bullpen.

Pick: Moneyline - LA Dodgers over 4.5 runs (-115), FanDuel Sportsbook
