Mid-Week Waiver Wire Rankings - Fantasy Baseball Pickups: Christian Scott, Yennier Cano, James Wood, Jalen Beeks, Kyle Stowers, more

Yennier Cano - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Mid-week fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings for Week 8 (2024). Free-agent hitters and pitchers to add include Christian Scott, Yennier Cano, James Wood, Jalen Beeks, Kyle Stowers, and more.

Hey RotoBallers, we are back with another edition of the mid-week fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings list for Week 8 -- May 13 through May 19 -- to help you stay on top of the waiver wire, especially in leagues that allow daily moves. Top prospects such as Kyle Stowers and Mark Vientos were recently promoted to the majors. Other top prospects, such as James Wood, Junior Caminero, Coby Mayo, Max Meyer, and Thomas Saggese, patiently await the call to the big leagues.

Some notable recent performances and injury notes include Washington Nationals top outfield prospect, James Wood. The Nationals will have to call up Wood at some point to the Show after slashing .354/.453/.583 with seven home runs and nine stolen bases over 37 games with Triple-A Rochester. The Orioles have removed Craig Kimbrel from the closer role, and Yennier Cano is the favorite for ninth-inning duties after notching two saves over his previous five appearances. Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter continues to rake and is hitting .333 (6-for-18) with two home runs over his last five games. Injuries continue to pile up as fantasy managers will need to replace Nick LodoloKeaton WinnJorge SolerPatrick BaileyRhys Hoskins, and Jung Hoo Lee, who were all recently placed on the injured list.

This edition features players such as Christian Scott, Taj Bradley, Yennier Cano, Jalen Beeks, James Wood, Kerry Carpenter, Dean Kremer, Reese Olson, Leody Taveras, Andrew Vaughn, and A.J. Puk. We're here, as always, to help you stay on top of the latest waiver wire options, especially in leagues that allow for daily moves. Prospects that are making impacts continue to be called up, so you'll need to be informed. Be sure to stay on top of our weekly waiver wire rankings and turn on MLB news alerts to stay ahead of the curve. Once you're done here, check out our fantasy baseball prospects articles for the latest names to stash and pick up.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups List

For anyone unfamiliar, we release all sorts of fantasy baseball waiver wire articles every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. As part of that, Nick Mariano releases our waiver wire rankings list on Sundays to help you prioritize which players to target as free-agent adds off waivers. I will be pinch-hitting for Nick over the next few weeks.

In addition, we are also putting out a second waiver wire rankings list mid-week. Since many fantasy baseball leagues have daily waiver wire moves or multiple waiver wire runs per week for adding players, this mid-week rankings list should help you keep track of players emerging in the middle of the week before we reach Sunday.

This article will guide you with our weekly ranking for the relevant waiver wire pickup options, including how to prioritize them for your league (depending on the league size). Roster % is from Yahoo leagues.
