BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 43% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It is sad, but it is also true: Michael Gallup has been an afterthought this season after having an incredible second-year breakout in 2019. Playing under backup quarterbacks doesn't help, but even with Dak Prescott manning the helm Gallup could only reach 10+ fantasy points in the W1-W5 span. He only has two more such performances, but he's starting to--at least--see more targets and rack up more opportunities. We know he has it in him, so it should be just a matter of time to see him explode again.
Gallup's 25.8 PPR points in Week 3 are his season-high score. His next-best game came in Week 8 when he posted up 13.1 PPR points, which are barely half of that W3 tally. Such has been Gallup's season. The Cowboys offense is so stacked that there was always going to be a lack of food to feed everyone, and Gallup has paid a bit. That being said, though, his usage has seen an increase in the past four weeks.
Gallup has been targeted 32 combined times in the last four games, compared to 36 in the first seven weeks of the season. In those first seven games, he was targeted more than 6 times once, compared to three games with 7+ targets in the last four weeks. He's not producing a lot (no touchdowns and just 167 yards in those 32 targets), but he should get back on track soon given the volume and what he's done in the past.
The game against Baltimore next week could be a little bit of a bad matchup, but after that and leading up to Championship Sunday the Cowboys face the 23rd, 11th, and 12th-bets defenses against fantasy WRs, none of them ranking in the top-third at stopping wideouts from scoring fantasy points. If the usage stays the same and Dalton keeps playing, Gallup should at least be a reasonable WR3/FLEX play in deeper formats or shallower ones for needy GMs.
