BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 35% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: As bouncy as Mac Jones has been, I legit doubt there is a better quarterback available in nearly two of each three Yahoo leagues at this point through the season with just one game to go. Yes, Mac has alternated QB1 and QB3 finishes for five weeks and still running, and that would go to as many as eight (!) weeks had he not finished QB17 overall back on Week 11. That's Jones for you, but given we're entering W18 and that you're reading this because you want someone at the position that is available for free it is not that we can ask for more.
Jones is coming off his best game of the year. You read that right. The Jaguars are the Jaguars, yes, so it's not that we can give Jones tons of flowers, but nothing takes from his 22.3-FP day last Sunday throwing for 227 yards and 3 TDs on 22 passes completed. Jones avoided getting intercepted for the first time in three weeks after back-to-back 2-INT games in the prior to matches he played. He also completed three passing touchdowns for just the second time this season after doing so facing Cleveland in W10.
See, Jones is what Jones is: a rookie quarterback who was always going to have his ups and downs. Being part of the Pats Fam was definitely going to help, of course, but that doesn't mean Jones is immune to dud'ing. The season trend suggests he might be in for a low score next week, but the Pats are already a Wild Card team facing an eliminated squad in Miami's. If NE wins and Buffalo losses, the Pats would jump above the Bills. Hard to see that happening, but there is a chance so Mac Jones will most definitely be out there trying his hardest. Definitely not the worst QB2 you can field next weekend.
