BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 40% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Salute to the 15th pick of the 2021 NFL draft and fifth quarterback off the board. LOL. The Pats can't lose even if they want to, man. Jones, even though being the latest of the top-tier quarterbacks to be selected this past summer, is clearly the go-to weapon of their respective offenses and the only rookie QB doing something even remotely resembling the work of a pro this year--and yes, that includes your beloved Trevor Lawrence.
Mac Jones has been more than good for New England given the low expectations. He's played to top-24 finishes in eight of his 11 games, and he's finished 26th, 27th, and 31st in the other three. Oh, and that 11-game span also includes two top-10 finishes taking place in W7 and W10. Not bad. Jones has been throwing interceptions almost on a weekly basis, yes, but he's only once thrown more than one (3 in W3) while he's passed for a score at least once in all but two games, topping at 3 TD just a couple of weekends ago against Cleveland.
Jones won't give you any type of rushing production because he's just not that type of guy. But his passing--while erring on the safe side--is good and solid enough to hit a TD weekly and add some 200+ yards through the air every time he is doing it out on the gridiron. Not a shallower-league target, but surely a player to stream at the position here and there ROS given the easiness of his matchups and surely a lock to start in any sort of deep/Superflex format from now to the season's end.
