BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer is the WR62 for the year, averaging 8.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He started the season as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Injuries have forced him to take on a larger role in the offense.
When Williams suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 3, Palmer took over as a starting wide receiver. Unfortunately, he missed five games because of a knee injury, returning last week against the Las Vegas Raiders.
With Allen out because of a heel injury, Palmer was the de facto top wide receiver in Week 15. Despite catching passes from Easton Stick, the wide receiver caught all four targets for 113 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 19.3 fantasy points, a season-high. While he had an impressive fantasy performance, Palmer scored 74.6% of his fantasy points off the blown coverage play that led to his touchdown.
This week, the wide receiver faces the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. The Bills have held wide receivers to 25.1 fantasy points per game, the 10th-fewest in the NFL.
Fantasy players can start Palmer as a desperation flex in deeper leagues if Allen misses his second consecutive game. However, Palmer has no fantasy upside if Allen plays on Saturday.
