Eagles quarterback (QB) Jalen Hurts is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 15 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: It happened. We've been calling for sitting Carson Wentz since maybe Week 2 when Wentz just finished putting up back-to-back 14-FP performances to kick the season off. The Eagles opted to keep Carson manning the pocket until that changed yesterday when Jalen Hurts finally started his first pro game--he had been used sparsely through the year but mostly on gimmicky plays.
In his first "real" game as a passer in Week 13 on Wentz's relief (Hurts played 22 snaps), Jalen Hurts attempted 12 passes completing 5 of them for 109 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He was also able to rush the ball for 29 yards on five carries. Not the greatest of performances, but playing fewer than 50% of the offensive snaps didn't allow Hurts for much more than he did.
This Sunday, starting against New Orleans, the outlook wasn't too good. Fear nothing, though. Hurts was able to rack up 19.3 FP in his first start to the tune of 17 completions for 167 yards and a touchdown. He avoided getting picked, and perhaps most encouragingly for fantasy GMs out there debating whether to adding him or not, Hurts rushed the ball for 106 yards (18 carries) and only lacked a score on the ground to have a great day.
As it happens with many other rushing-QBs, Hurts looks like a high-floor quarterback if only because of his rushing prowess and ability. With just one start under his belt, and the Eagles too stubborn to bench Wentz, adding Hurst to your roster should only be done in super deep leagues or 2QB ones as a desperate measure. Nothing (in terms of performance) is telling us he can't be a QB1 or top-end QB2 ROS, but I don't trust Philly's QB usage just one bit.
