Jaleel McLaughlin is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: McLaughlin was a popular sleeper coming into the year, but so far hasn’t met expectations. He’s only averaging 3.2 yards per carry and hasn’t eclipsed more than 35% of offensive snaps in any game this year.
Despite the slow start, McLaughlin has shown that he belongs on an NFL field.

With Tyler Badie suffering a major back injury, McLaughlin is once again locked in as the No. 2 back in Denver. Their rushing offense has struggled so far, but McLaughlin has proven he can be effective. He just needs more opportunities.
Javonte Williams is coming off his best outing of the season, but he has struggled overall. McLaughlin currently ranks ahead of Williams in Next Gen Stats Rush Yards Over Expected (RYOE) and PFF’s Rushing Grade. It’s not unfathomable that McLaughlin will command more touches if Williams continues to scuffle.
If you’ve got room on your bench and need a back, McLaughlin is worth an add off waivers. We are only a quarter of the way through the season, and McLaughlin still has upside. He’s got talent and is worth rostering for another week or two to see if his production improves.
