Is Omarion Hampton Out for the Season? Injury Update on Coming Back for Fantasy Football (Week 11)

Omarion Hampton - Fantasy Football Rankings, Rookie RB Draft Sleepers

Is Omarion Hampton out for the season? When is Omarion Hampton coming back? The latest Omarion Hampton injury update and fantasy football outlook heading into Week 11 of 2025.

After a dominant collegiate career, Omarion Hampton was picked 22nd overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2025 NFL draft. Many fantasy football fans thought Hampton was going to have a great rookie season and be a fantasy stud right out of the gate.

Hampton got off to a hot start, as he was the PPR RB11 after the fourth week of the season. However, he suffered an unfortunate ankle injury in Week 5 and hasn't returned to the field since.

Will Hampton play again this season? Should fantasy managers stash him on their bench? Let's dive in!

Is Omarion Hampton Out for the 2025 Season?

Coming off back-to-back games with over 70 rushing yards and a touchdown, Omarion Hampton was set to have another big game against the Commanders in Week 5, but an ankle sprain late in the third quarter changed everything.

He was later seen in a walking boot, and the team decided to place him on the Injured Reserve list. With injuries to Hampton, Najee Harris, and Hassan Haskins, the Chargers are extremely short-handed at RB and need all the help they can get.

When asked about Hampton's return before the Chargers' Week 10 matchup against the Steelers, HC Jim Harbaugh showed some signs of optimism. "No crystal ball, but he's progressing really well," Harbaugh said.

However, he also said that he didn't expect Hampton to return prior to the team's Week 12 bye, and the Week 13 game against the Raiders could be a realistic target date for his return.

Omarion Hampton 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

Kimani Vidal has done an admirable job as the team's emergency RB1, as he has put up 382 rushing yards and two rushing scores since Week 6. But the Chargers will need Hampton to be back for their late-season playoff push.

Hampton got 20.0 touches per game in his last three games, which is pretty good considering that he missed over 25% of Week 5's game. He was the PPR RB1 from Week 4 to 5, as he racked up 52.4 PPR points in that span.

The Chargers' offensive line situation is extremely concerning, but Hampton is determined to return as the team's lead back. He did some light work before the game against Pittsburgh, and he's getting back into game shape.

Despite Vidal's solid play, Hampton will be the RB1 again once he returns, which makes him a great option for the fantasy playoffs.
