Top Hitter Streamers and Starts - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 8 (May 19 - May 25)

Max Muncy - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Dan's top hitter streamers and starts as fantasy baseball waiver wire adds for Week 8 of 2025 (May 19 - May 25). He analyzes streamers with favorable matchups, schedules.

It's hard to believe that we are closing out the second month of the season already, but sure enough, here we are about to enter Week 8 of the fantasy baseball schedule!

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with favorable matchups who can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions. Players who appear in this article will always be rostered in 40 percent or fewer leagues on Yahoo!

In this piece, every week, I'll look to find hitters playing in the most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller. Now, let's see which hitters we should consider grabbing off the wire as we roll into Week 8 of the fantasy baseball season!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer the Most Streaming Value in Week 8?

The majority of MLB teams are playing six games this week.

However, the following teams all play seven games: BAL, BOS, CLE, COL, DET, HOU, LAA, MIL, ATH, PHI, PIT, SEA

Ballpark Upgrades:

  • COL (All seven games at home)
  • CHC (Three games at Cincy)
  • ATH (All seven games at home)
  • TBR (All six games at home)
  • PHI (4 games in Coors, 3 games in Sacto)

Week 8 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40 percent rostered or lower, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo! The list is a bit longer this week than in prior weeks, so I am going to keep the blurbs a bit shorter so we can feature more players.

Brandon Lowe, 1B/2B - TBR (37% rostered)

Lowe officially has first base eligibility and has been inside the top 100 over the last two weeks with three home runs, eight runs scored, and nine RBI. He's still a liability against LHP, but with all six games at home this week, he should have some great hitting weather in a minor league ballpark that should play well to his power.

You have to be willing to live with the low average for the possible return of some solid power numbers.

Max Muncy, 3B - LAD (35% rostered)

Muncy sticks on the list for another week, but I have a feeling he's going to go over our 40% threshold by next week. The lovable lefty slugger had a nice week for the Dodgers, slugging two home runs and driving in nine runs.

I read on X that he just got fitted with prescription glasses earlier this month, and perhaps that has something to do with his uptick in performance. Maybe not, but all I know is he's hitting in the five hole for the best offense in baseball. Please get this guy onto more rosters!

Ryan McMahon, 3B - COL (33% rostered) and Michael Toglia, 1B/OF - COL (30% rostered)

Let's kill two birds with one stone here and talk about both of these Rockies' sluggers.

McMahon has been much more consistent and quality contact lately, swatting three home runs over the last two weeks and running up his average to .209 after not hitting anything through the entire month of April.

Toglia has three home runs of his own over that stretch, too, and has hit safely in five of his last six games. With the Rockies playing seven games at home this week, two of their best hitters make for some of the best streamers available on the wire if you're looking for run production and some potential home runs.

Chandler Simpson, OF - TBR (27% rostered)

I mentioned the favorable schedule for the Rays this week at home, and Simpson is yet another Tampa hitter we should be eyeing. He had a rough start to May, but has turned it on lately with a six-game hitting streak, including four multi-hit games.

He swiped his ninth base of the season yesterday, too, and has been productive from the nine-hole with Josh Lowe returning to the leadoff spot. He's an uber-talented young player with a ton of upside, I think it's time to buy back in on Simpson.

Jordan Beck, OF - COL (19% rostered)

Another Rockies hitter widely available for seven games at Coors? Sign me up! Beck hit two more home runs last night and now has hit seven of his eight home runs in three games. So apparently he likes to deliver in big doses?

Regardless, he now has eight bombs on the year and has moved into the leadoff spot lately. There's value there between his emerging talent, lineup spot, and the favorable park factor.

Gavin Sheets, 1B/OF - SD (15% rostered)

Sheets is playing his way back onto fantasy baseball rosters with a solid few weeks of hitting. He was red hot coming out of spring training and started strong in April, only to tail off quickly. But Sheets has earned 10 straight starts and collected hits in eight of those 10 games, including two more home runs to give him six on the season.

It's nothing flashy, but Sheets is providing some low-end production in RBI while hitting .290 on the year. If you need some depth in the outfield or a replacement at first base for the short term, he's been a dependable fantasy asset of late.

Trevor Larnach, OF - MIN (14% rostered)

Fantasy managers are finally taking note of Larnach's contributions in Minnesota. It was supposed to be Matt Wallner who was going to be the breakout fantasy player for the Twins this season, but he's still on the shelf, and Larnach has been coming up big lately.

The lefty has three home runs over the last two weeks and has been hitting out first or second for Minnesota against RHP. He has 23 RBI and 26 runs scored on the season; that type of production isn't usually so widely available on the wire.

Connor Norby, 2B/3B - MIA (12% rostered)

Norby is a holdover from last week. He had a pretty solid week at the plate, and I continue to believe in his skill set. He's now hitting third for the Marlins and has some solid hitters behind him, with the promotion of Agustin Ramirez and the emergence of Kyle Stowers. He's a toolsy player who is going to break out with some bigger offensive numbers sooner or later.

Drake Baldwin, C - ATL (11% rostered)

This is a tough sell, I know, as Baldwin is still very much part of a platoon with the veteran Sean Murphy. But Baldwin is swinging a hot bat and is working his way into the lineup more often as a result.

The rookie is now up to five home runs on the season and a lofty .354 average. He's getting pinch-hitting opportunities and could even push for some DH starts when Murphy is catching if he keeps hitting like this.

Week 8 Deeper League Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10 percent rostered) could be worth a look this week.

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely!
