George Pickens fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 7 (2024). Our advice on whether you should start or sit George Pickens for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12-Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: While a matchup with the Jets' secondary would usually be something that may cause us to bench a borderline player like Pickens, there's a new wrinkle in Pickens' outlook this week.
All indications are that the Steelers have decided to go with Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback on Sunday night against the Jets, which could end up a very positive development for Pickens' production.
While Justin Fields has played well for the Steelers, the Pittsburgh passing attack has been pretty quiet most weeks and Pickens is averaging just 4.3 receptions per game on 7.3 targets. He's managed just 7.7 fantasy points per game (half-PPR scoring) and has yet to find the end zone.
George Pickens gets a new QB in Week 7. Will we see an improvement in his performance?
He has:
- 68.2% Catchable Target Rate (#54) 🤦♂️
- 12.2 ADoT (#31) 😬
- 28.9% Target Share (#7) 👌Will Russ unlock Pickens and the deep ball in PIT? #HereWeGo pic.twitter.com/5kGY0OTO8I

But Wilson could upgrade the passing game, which is why the Steelers are likely making the move. Pickens will likely be Wilson's top target this week and with bye weeks and injuries, your team probably needs an upside play in the flex slot or WR2 slot.
If you have safer options, by all means, use them - but Pickens could easily beat his projection this week if Russell Wilson comes out slinging it. He's talented enough to take a risk on this week in deeper formats.
