MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Zack Wheeler OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-135 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Zack Wheeler has a solid matchup in this one against the Rangers. Over the previous two weeks, Texas has posted a K rate of 24.5% vs. right-handed pitching, which ranks sixth-worst in the league over that span. Meanwhile, Wheeler has eclipsed this total in eight of his previous nine starts.
Chad Kuhl OVER 4.5 strikeouts (+100 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Kuhl is not someone I would normally look at for a K prop, but at +100, he makes some solid sense here. He will be facing the Marlins away from Coors Field, who have posted the fourth-highest K rate vs. righties over the previous two weeks with a rate of 25.6%. Kuhl has also been strong lately as he is coming off a seven-strikeout performance against the Guardians and has struck out at least seven in two of his previous four starts. He has also eclipsed this total in five starts this season.
Carlos Carrasco OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-105 DraftKings Sportsbook)
The odds at -105 are pretty solid on Carrasco here as well. Granted, the Astros have posted the fourth-best K rate vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, but they have also shown the propensity to strike out at certain times this season. This is more of a bet on Cookie who has gone over 4.5 strikeouts in five straight starts and has hit at least seven strikeouts in four of those five starts.
