In this article, I'll provide my favorite betting picks for the MLB games on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. We will focus on money line bets, totals, and team totals. With all of that said, let's break down some baseball games.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Royals @ Diamondbacks
O/U: 8.5 | Moneyline: ARI -255
KCR: Ryan Yarbrough | ARI: Zac Gallen
One of the first things I do on every slate is find one of the biggest mismatches and we have one here with the Diamondbacks putting their ace, Zac Gallen, on the bump while the Royals are rolling out Ryan Yarbrough.
Gallen has been tremendous this season, especially in his last three starts as he shut out the Brewers, Marlins, and Padres while striking out 29 hitters and walking just one.

KC ranks last among all teams in wRC+ against RHP. So Gallen gets another great matchup here and the Arizona offense should provide enough scoring behind him for us to cover the spread. The D-Backs have been better on offense than most folks probably realize, averaging 4.76 runs per game this season.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Padres @ Cubs
O/U: 8.5 | Moneyline: CHI -110
SDP: Michael Wacha | CHI: Drew Smyly
Don't look now but the Cubs, a team that was not expected by many to contend this season, are 13-9 and only two games back of the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates (yes, you heard that right, too).
The Cubs are coming off a 6-0 win against the Padres last night in the series opener and got some more strong pitching from their ace, Justin Steele, who shut San Diego's offense down entirely.
Today they will go with Drew Smyly, who has pitched quite himself so far this year and is coming off his best start of the season as he whiffed 10 Dodgers and took a perfect game into the 8th inning.
He might not pitch that well tonight, but I have more faith in the Cubs' bats against Michael Wacha, who has struggled to a 4.6 SIERA so far this season than I do against the slumping Padres' bats against Smyly. At even money, this one feels like a no-brainer. I am going to back the home team here as they are simply playing better baseball than San Diego right now.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Mariners @ Phillies
O/U: 8 | Moneyline: SEA -120
SEA: Logan Gilbert| PHI: Taijuan Walker
I was set to pounce on the Mariners' money line yesterday when Logan Gilbert was scratched mid-day. Marco Gonzales ended up starting and the Mariners won anyway behind a decent start from Gonzo and some solid offensive production (five runs) from their offense.
Today we are back on the Mariners again as they get their young stud back on the hill. With Robbie Ray out injured, Gilbert has stepped up in a big way for Seattle as a co-ace with Luis Castillo. He's pitching incredibly well so far this year and has made some tweaks to his pitch mix that have increased his strikeouts and helped his run prevention, too.
The Phillies' offense has been mediocre at best without Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins. Taijuan Walker is a back-end arm, too, giving the Mariners an advantage on offense and pitching tonight. This line is only at -120, providing some nice value as the Mariners should probably be closer to -175 to -200 favorites based on their offensive production and Gilbert's effectiveness.
