Week 10 Kicker Rankings Outlooks
Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers should have plenty of chances to rack up points on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Myers has always been an accurate kicker, but Seattle's ascension as an office is providing Myers with numerous opportunities to kick field goals and extra points. Myers enters Week 10 averaging 9.75 fantasy points as a kicker.
He is providing your team with legitimate low-end flex value in your kicker spot. Best of all, Myers is doing so consistently. He has reached double-digit fantasy points three times this season. The Cardinals boast a solid defense, but they will be traveling to Seattle in Week 10. The home-field advantage should help Seattle be successful offensively—Trust Myers as a high-end kicker option in Week 10 and beyond.
Ryan Fitzgerald, Carolina Panthers
Ryan Fitzgerald is a viable fill-in option if a deeper one is needed for Week 10. In last week's game against the Green Bay Packers, the Carolina kicker nailed his only field goal attempt and was 1-for-2 on extra point attempts. The rookie kicker has recorded an average of 7.2 fantasy points this season while hitting all of his field goal attempts in four of the last five weeks.
Over the last four weeks, the Saints have allowed 10 points per game to the kicker position, which ranks 28th of all teams. New Orleans has also given up an average of 27 points to opposing teams, which is tied for 24th-most in the league this season. The matchup appears to be favorable for Fitzgerald, and while he is ranked just 18th at kicker by RotoBaller for Week 10, he could provide adequate fantasy totals.
Matt Prater, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills kicker Matt Prater has been a victim of the offense's success at times this season. The team consistently moves the ball downfield and scores, but the high touchdown percentage has limited Prater's field goal opportunities. The kicker is fourth in the league with 25 extra points made, but ranks just 20th with 12 field goals.
Prater's 85.7% conversion rate is adequate, but his lack of opportunities has frustrated fantasy owners throughout the season. Week 10 should bring another favorable matchup where Prater maintains a high floor, but will unlikely emerge as a top-tier kicker this week. Despite the lack of high-end scoring, he does remain a steady play for teams in need of a five-to-ten point week from their kicker.
Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott has now missed field goal attempts in back-to-back games, going 1-for-2 in Week 8 against the New York Giants. At first, the problem with Elliott was his lack of kicking opportunities despite his consistent accuracy.
Now, the problem is both his opportunities and his accuracy. While he did hit five extra points to pick up the slack, managers can't depend on Philly scoring five touchdowns every week. Elliott is best left off of rosters heading into his Week 10 game against the Green Bay Packers.
Will Reichard, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard should be considered an average fantasy option when the Vikings host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. Baltimore ranks 24th against fantasy kickers on the season, but has seen its defense come to life in the past month. The Ravens have held their past three opponents to an average of 13 points, and they enter the game with a few days of added rest after playing the Thursday night game in Week 9.
Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy performed admirably in a big win at Detroit, but he's started only three times in his career, and some bumps in the road should be expected. Reichard has been excellent overall, however, making 16-of-18 field goal attempts, but a tough-to-predict Vikings offense makes him a middling fantasy option.
