NFL quarterback Drew Lock is a potential 2020 fantasy football sleeper and ADP draft value. Target him as an undervalued QB in fantasy football drafts.
BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~150 Overall
CURRENT ADP: ~172
ANALYSIS: Drew Lock is the starter for the Broncos in 2020 although the second-year QB only started in five games at the end of the 2019 season in which he went 4-1. This featured wins over the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, and the Oakland Raiders. That experience proved valuable, as the 23-year-old racked up 1,020 pass yards, seven touchdowns, three interceptions, 6.5 pass yards per attempt, 204 pass yards per game, an 89.7 quarterback rating, and 72 rush yards. All things considered, and although the sample isn't huge, Lock couldn't have looked better and the expectations are quite high for him entering 2020.
The Missouri native finished 37th among fantasy QBs last season, naturally, because he only appeared in five games. Therefore, he ranked in the bottom of statistical categories among NFL QBs due to the small number of games he played. When looking at his per-game averages, though, he ranked a better QB30 in PPG and would have been on pace to rack up 217+ fantasy points over a full 16-game season. While that is nothing otherworldly, it wouldn't have been bad for a rookie passer and would have helped him finish as a low-end QB2 (QB23 in 2019).
Although Lock has still to prove he can sustain his record and winning tendencies over a larger amount of games, the truth is that Denver has given him quite a few young weapons to work with come the 2020 season and that so far it's been all good for the Missouri product. Lock is in one of the most stable positions around the league with no true competition for the starting role, so he will probably stay there for all 16 games, with PFF projecting him to 236 fantasy points. If there is a sleeper at QB out there, it must be Lock.
