NBA DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/8/24)

Giannis Antetokounmpo - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineups

Today's top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel on January 8, 2024. Mike's NBA DFS sleeper picks for building winning DFS lineups.

Monday brings a modest six-game slate in the NBA. One of the more exciting matchups features the Clippers hosting the Suns. The Rockets will also be in Miami to take on the Heat.

Despite there only being six games, there are several key injuries to make note of. Damian Lillard (personal) and Jimmy Butler (foot) have already been ruled out. Some noteworthy players listed as questionable are Jayson Tatum (ankle) and Kristaps Porzingis (eye).

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/8/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 pm EST. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Khris Middleton, MIL vs. UTA – PG/SG ($7,000 DK; $7,000 FD)

Lillard being out means that Middleton should be in line for an increased workload. Not only could he see added shot attempts, but he could be asked to create more opportunities for his teammates. He is already averaging 4.8 assists per game, putting him on place to average at least 4.0 assists for the seventh straight season. Combine that with the Jazz having the eighth-worst defensive rating in the league and Middleton stands out as one of the top options to consider.

Jordan Clarkson, UTA at MIL – PG/SG ($6,100 DK; $7,200 FD)

This has the potential to be a high-scoring game with the Jazz and Bucks both ranked inside the top-10 in the league in pace of play. Clarkson is never one to shy away from jacking up shots, which has enabled him to average 18.6 points over his last eight games. During that span, he also provided 4.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.

AJ Green, MIL vs. UTA – PG/SG ($3,000 DK; $3,500 FD)

Not only will Lillard be out for this game, but so will Cameron Payne (concussion). Green has had a difficult time finding his way onto the floor, but the Bucks might have no choice but to give him extended run in this matchup. He showed his upside in a matchup against the Bulls about a month ago, recording 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists over 14 minutes. At such cheap salaries on both sites, Green is an intriguing option in tournament play.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jaylen Brown, BOS at IND – SG/SF ($8,200 DK; $8,500 FD), Collin Sexton, UTA at MIL – PG/SG ($5,800 DK; $7,100 FD)

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL vs. UTA – PF/C ($11,700 DK; $12,800 FD)

This has the potential to be a tremendous game for Giannis. He is already firing on all cylinders, averaging 34.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks over his last nine games. His usage rate should be off the charts with Lillard out, so don’t expect the Jazz to be able to slow him down.

Jaime Jaquez Jr., MIA vs. HOU – SF/PF ($6,200 DK; $6,600 FD)

Jaquez has quickly worked his way into a prominent role with the Heat. He has averaged 35 minutes over their last 15 games. He made the most of his extended run, averaging 15.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals during that span. Butler has already been ruled out and Caleb Martin (ankle) is doubtful again, so Jaquez should remain busy.

MarJon Beauchamp, MIL vs. UTA – SF/SG ($3,700 DK; $3,800 FD)

Beauchamp is another member of the Bucks’ second unit who could see additional playing time with Lillard and Payne out. After shooting just 39.5 percent from the field during his rookie campaign, Beauchamp has shot 50.8 percent this season. He did start one game in December versus the Pistons, which helped him record 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals over 33 minutes.

ALSO CONSIDER: Lauri Markkanen, UTA at MIL – SF/PF ($8,100 DK; $8,500 FD), Bennedict Mathurin, IND vs. BOS – SF/SG ($5,800 DK; $5,600 FD)

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Chet Holmgren, OKC at WAS – C ($7,700 DK; $8,500 FD)

The Wizards are an appealing team to face for DFS. They have played at the second-fastest pace, have the worst defensive rating, and have given up the most rebounds per game in the league. That sets up Holmgren, who is averaging 17.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.6 blocks per game with significant upside. The only potential downside is that if the Thunder race out to a big lead early, Holmgren could spend the bulk of the fourth quarter on the bench.

Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. PHX – C ($6,300 DK; $6,700 FD)

With so many big names playing around him, Zubac doesn’t generate many headlines. He has been reliable, though, averaging 12.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. After posting 22 points and 19 rebounds versus the Lakers on Sunday, expect Zubac to play plenty of minutes in a matchup with Jusuf Nurkic.

Nick Richards, CHA vs. CHI – C ($5,700 DK; $6,100 FD)

Mark Williams (back) is going to miss another game for the Hornets. Over the last 13 games without him, Richards has averaged 9.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks. Further tilting the scales in Richards’ favor is that P.J. Washington (foot) will also be sidelined against the Bulls. The Hornets are going to need Richards to log a lot of minutes.

ALSO CONSIDER: Bam Adebayo, MIA vs. HOU – C ($8,800 DK; $9,100 FD), Myles Turner, IND vs. BOS - C ($6,600 DK; $7,400 FD)
