DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks For 1/2/24 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

Zach Edey - CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

Today's DraftKings college basketball DFS lineup picks for 1/2/24. Mike Marteny's CBB daily fantasy advice and lineup sleepers to help you win on DraftKings.

Happy New Year from all of us here at RotoBaller. Yesterday's all-Texas slate was so messy that even I wouldn't get after it, but today we are back with a big 10-game slate and they are all conference games! Get used to it. This is going to be normal for the next couple of months. I can't wait! DePaul heads to Storrs for the early game on this slate before the normal start times.

We have a lot of action in the 7 pm window. Creighton heads to D.C. to take on Georgetown. Purdue is also in the area taking on Maryland. Iowa heads up to Madison to take on the Badgers. Wake climbs Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College. North Carolina heads to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers. Butler is in Queens to take on the Johnnies. Northwestern heads downstate to take on the Illini. Syracuse heads to Cameron to take on Duke. We close this out in Fort Collins with the Rams welcoming in New Mexico. Not bad, huh?

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/2/24, starting at 6:30 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower end. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Baylor Scheierman, Creighton ($8,600)

When Scheierman gets going, not many people can stop him. He made a career-high seven three-pointers against Marquette in the last game and he hasn't been under 29 DraftKings points all season. Scheierman isn't just a scorer. He is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game on the season and 4.2 assists. He has hit double figures in rebounds three times this season and topped out at nine assists twice. He's a legit triple-double threat, which is rare at the college level.

Nique Clifford, Colorado State ($7,300)

Clifford is an efficient scorer and active on both ends of the court. He only averages around 10 shots per game but has 13.2 points per game. He's a good rebounder on the perimeter and will even throw in a few blocks for good measure. Clifford's streak of three games with more than 30 DraftKings points was snapped in a rout of Adams State, but he should start a new one against New Mexico.

Quincy Guerrier, Illinois ($6,600)

Guerrier has filled in nicely since Terrence Shannon's allegations have him sidelined. Guerrier has 123.75 DraftKings points over the last four games, scoring at least 14 points in every game and hauling down 31 rebounds. He doesn't do much besides score and rebound, but if he's going to do it at this level and this price tag, it doesn't matter. He'll pay off his price.

Jahari Long, Maryland ($5,100)

Long shined in his first career start with 28.75 DraftKings points against Coppin State with Jahmir Young out. That was Long's third performance of over 22 DraftKings points in the last three games. Regardless of the status of Young, Long will have a good role for Maryland going forward. He's not much of a scorer (though he did score 15 against Coppin State), but he contributes in every category.

Also consider: RJ Davis, North Carolina ($9,500); Tristen Newton, Connecticut ($8,400); Isaiah Stevens, Colorado State ($7,700); Quadir Copeland, Syracuse ($7,200); Tony Perkins, Iowa ($6,800); DeShawn Harris-Smith, Maryland ($6,200); AJ Storr, Wisconsin ($5,800); K.T. Raimey, DePaul ($4,700); Hassan Diarra, Connecticut ($3,800)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Kyle Filipowski, Duke($10,100)

There are a lot of expensive big men on this slate, but Filipowski probably has the highest floor. On top of his 18 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game, Filipowski is also averaging two books and 1.4 steals per game. That's above a 40 DraftKings point per game average. Zach Edey probably won't go nuts on Julian Reese. Filipowski might eat the Syracuse frontcourt. He's a great GPP pivot.

Coleman Hawkins, Illinois ($7,200)

Hawkins has scored in double figures in four straight for the Illini. The loss of Terrence Shannon is forcing guys from all over the starting lineup to pick up the slack. Hawkins has answered the call with 61 points and 21 rebounds over the last four games. That's a much better clip than his season-long averages of 10 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Samson Johnson, Connecticut ($5,300)

Johnson started in place of Donovan Clingan against St. John's before the break and turned in 26 DraftKings points. It could have been an even bigger breakout if he wasn't in foul trouble for part of the game. Regardless, Johnson is far too cheap for what he will provide with Clingan out. Use him in every single lineup!

Andre Screen, Butler ($4,300)

Screen has been excellent on a per-minute basis. This is the age-old struggle of what we want in a value player. Do we want a guy who plays 30 minutes, but isn't heavily involved in anything, or do we want a per-minute warrior who averages more than a DFS point per minute? That's Screen today, who has 64.25 DraftKings points in 56 minutes over the last four games. I like that action in a value play.

Also consider: Zach Edey, Purdue ($10,500); Joel Soriano, St. John's ($9,400); Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton ($8,000); Harrison Ingram, North Carolina ($7,700); Ben Krikke, Iowa ($7,400); Tyler Wahl, Wisconsin ($5,900); Isaac Mushila, New Mexico ($4,900); Mason Gillis, Purdue ($4,600)
