BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 12% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: After the events that took place last week, this is now far from a desperate WW target and addition. The Browns finally moved on from Odell Beckham Jr. after they opted not to trade him prior to the deadline and he later decided to skip team training sessions and such, sitting out until he forced a release. We're still waiting to see where he lands once he clears waivers, but we don't care about that over here. What we care for is the next man up in Cleveland, Donovan Peoples-Jones of all men.
Check this out. DPJ in the first four weeks of the season: 7.3 PPR points on a 4-4-57 total receiving line. DPJ in the past three games he's played (W5+W6+W9): 54.7 PPR points on a 14-11-257 with 3 TDs in his last two outings combined. Not bad for an afterthought, is it? Surely, Donovan won't be racking up 86 yards on two receptions with a touchdown baked into that outing like he did this past weekend. And if he does, cool, but you can't count on that type of unsustainable performance to stay up for long.
Even then, though, DJP is a fantastic deep threat who has put up at least 39 yards in every game in which he's gotten at least a couple of targets this season, an average of 14+ YPR in those four games with 2+ targets, and a ridiculous pass-catching machine grabbing 83.3% of the balls thrown his way. Give this man an inch, and you know he'll deliver because that's all he does. With OBJ out of town and Jarvis Landry falling off fantasy relevance (three straight games without topping 10 PPR points), DJP might actually be the best receiver in Cleveland. Can't pass on this chance if you're in a deeper league (would consider Peoples-Jones in shallower formats too, but keep in mind he's got a little bit of a boom/bust profile to him).
