BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ team leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is enamored with David Njoku. It wasn't Amari Cooper or Elijah Moore that caught his eye in his first two starts. Rather, the tight end has been peppered with targets.
Number 85 registered 22 targets in Weeks 4 and 11, the two games that DTR started, including 15 last week against the Steelers. The opportunities won't always turn into production, however. The former first-round pick secured under half of those 15 targets for 56 yards. It's due to drops and inconsistency from the rookie fifth-round pick. DTR has completed just 54.4% of his passes in his two starts.
As long as the target numbers remain at a lofty level, Njoku will catch enough passes for a safe floor. Double-digit fantasy PPR fantasy points are easily attainable, especially when factoring in Cleveland's opponent, the Denver Broncos, who surrender the most fantasy points per game to tight ends.
While the Broncos have allowed five tight end touchdowns in their ten games, Thompson-Robinson has yet to score a touchdown on the ground or through the air. A tight end score may be harder to come by, but fantasy managers in need of a safe, reliable option are in good hands with Njoku.
