BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 7% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Remember the 5-1 Bears? Yeah, me neither. LOL. These Bears have turned into the New York Jets in that it'd take a very unusual set of circumstances to roster any of their players not named Allen Robinson II, but here we are. Rookie WR Darnell Mooney must be one of the very few good things that have happened to Chicago's offense this season, if anything at all.
Don't get too excited, as the quarterbacking is and will remain to be putrid as hell, cutting Mooney's upside, but for needy GMs he should be a reasonable addition ROS. Mooney is a low-scoring player in fantasy leagues, and he has crossed the 12 PPR-point-mark just once this season (W8, 17.9 points). The WR2 is more of a high-floor, low-ceiling play. While he has three games below 4 fantasy points, six of the other seven finished with him into the 6-to-12 gap, not bad for a FLEX player in deeper formats that call for extreme measures.
Mooney keeps getting targeted on a very healthy dose (6+ targets in four of his last five games), but he's not truly making the most of those looks (although it must be said that Chicago is throwing passes inside the tightest windows this season, with both Foles and Mitch not finding open WRs). Mooney is 18 of 35 since Week 7 and has racked up 189 yards and a single TD in those five games.
Even with the middle pair of QBs tossing him the ball, Chicago's schedule can't look better: the Bears face four straight teams ranked in the bottom-third of the league at stopping fantasy WRs, making Mooney a great FLEX addition to close your fantasy season. The two best matchups will come in Weeks 15 (third-worst Minny) and 16 (eight-worst Jacksonville).
