BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 58% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It is very clear how Darnell Mooney's rostership has grown through the season and how it is now clocking in above 50% easily. That said, I have a good excuse for writing about Mooney's viability as a WW target given the latest developments around Chi-Town: rookie QB Justin Fields got mega-banged-up last Sunday and it's going to be Andy Dalton manning the pocket at least for the foreseeable future in Chicago. In other words: most fantasy GMs will be afraid of carrying Mooney Shares and that should keep/make him available in most WW pools out there.
With Allen Robinson out of commission too (hamstring issues in W11), it was all about Mooney this past Sunday for the Bears. And oh, boy, did he deliver. It's been now two weeks of Mooney hitting 20+ PPR points and three straight with 12+ PPR points. Mooney has had a few games playing to WR2 levels this year as he already scored 18.5 and 15.5 PPR points back in Weeks 4 and 6. That number is now up to four such WR2 performances and another top-30 game sandwiched in between taking place in W8.
Mooney's coming off his best game of the year to the tune of a 16-target (!!!), 5-reception, 121-yard, 1-TD outcome that could have been twice as good had he caught more than a third of his targets. Not that we care that much, though, as it was sublime nonetheless. Mooney is going to keep his role whether A-Rob plays or not (basically because A-Rob has descended to fantasy-hell this season) and he'll perform whether it's Dalton or Field throwing the rook (one sucks, the other one probably too going through rookie growing pains). Must-roster player ROS and weekly starter at WR2/WR3 even in shallower formats.
