Giants quarterback (QB) Daniel Jones is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 12 of the 2020 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 28% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Daniel Jones is coming off New York's bye week. More important, though, is the fact that Jones is coming off his best fantasy game of the season. The last time we saw Jones two weeks ago facing the Eagles, he put on a show and finished as the QB8 of W10. With fantasy GMs forgetting about players getting back on the schedule after their bye-week rest, this is your chance to pounce and roster Jones for the sweet price of nothing.
Let's start with what matters here. Jones from W1 to W5: 11.1 fantasy points per game. Jones from W6 to W10: 17.6 FP/G. Talk about improving, folks. Jones' last five games have finished at 15+ fantasy points four times, including his season-high of 22.2 FP back in Week 10. Jones put on such a performance without throwing a single touchdown, but rushing for 64 yards and a TD.
One of the most appealing traits of Jones' game is precisely his rushing prowess. He's carried the ball 49 times on the season for a great 384 total yards on the ground and one touchdown. He's been rather bad throwing the ball, that's true (he's been picked off 9 times already), but at least he ranks inside the QB2 realm in both passing attempts and passing yards, making a little bit up for his woes.
The Giants have a cupcake of a schedule ROS: they face the 21st, 31st, 27th, and 25th defenses against fantasy QBs leading up to Week 16. Jones has been a QB1 in two of his last six games, and a top-25 player in the other four matches. That means he's a must-start player in 2QB leagues, a reasonable starter in 14+ teams formats, and a very good streamer in 12+ teams leagues given the softness of the upcoming schedule.
