RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Tuesday, March 28 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.
The playoffs are now two weeks away and while some teams have clinched their birth, others are still fighting for their lives. Washington, Pittsburgh, and Columbus are all fighting for not only the Metropolitan Division but the NHL's President's Trophy. Nothing sweeter for the game in Canada as three Canadian teams in Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa are battling it out down the stretch for the Atlantic Divison. It's going to be an exciting finish.
Tonight we have a huge 11 game slate that includes eight of the top 10 offenses and eight of the bottom 10 defenses. Let's jump right into the picks.

NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Tuesday, March 28
For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. Derek Stepan (C, NYR)
DraftKings - $6,400, FanDuel - $5,700
The Rangers get a bit lucky tonight in that they get to face the league's second-ranked defense in a rut. The Sharks come in having lost six straight and have also given up 13 goals against over their last two games. Target Stepan tonight is very affordable on both sites and provides value across the board. Over his last 10 games, he has seven points(five on the powerplay) with 34 shots on goal.
Rickard Rakell (W, ANH)
DraftKings - $6,200, FanDuel - $6,200
While the Sharks have been struggling, the Ducks have been flying(pun intended) winning four straight and now sit atop the Pacific Division with two weeks left in the regular season. They have relied heavily on their top line which has been off the charts lately. Rakell comes into tonight with a seven-game points streak including six multi-point efforts. Lock him into one of your wing positions in all formats.
David Savard (D, CBJ)
DraftKings - $4,300, FanDuel - $3,800
From a PTS/$ perspective, David Savard has been right near the top of the ranks for awhile now. He comes in right around that $4K mark on both sites and has been very consistent lately despite the lack of offensive upside. He has tallied 27 shots on goal with 17 blocks and four points over his last 10 games for an average of 3.4 DraftKings/11.6 FanDuel points per game.
Stacking Option
Toronto Maple Leafs PP - Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Leo Komarov
The Leafs have everything in their favor tonight. They are the second highest projected team on the huge 11-game slate as they are home to the Florida Panthers who have been a mess down the stretch losing 12 of their last 17 games. Target the Leafs powerplay who should get a few added opportunities as the Panthers are also one of the highest penalized teams in the league.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
