CS Summit EU (Best of Three)

  • OG vs North
  • Vitality vs Heroic
  • Ninjas in Pajamas vs Fnatic
  • GODSENT vs BIG

CS:GO DFS Captain Considerations

syrsoN- $12,900 (c) - syrsoN and BIG saw a rematch with FaZe be all they needed to return to winning ways. syrsoN put up a solid 43-30 K/D stat line in their 2-0 over FaZe to advance from the group stage. BIG are the heavy favorites and their star sniper is their anchor with a  team-leading 1.22 rating over the last 3 months.

A big reason to be confident in syrsoN is the potential map pool. I talked in yesterday's article about syrsoN's proficiencies on Nuke, and he delivered against FaZe with a 20-14 performance. We can once again anticipate Nuke to be part of this series given not only BIG's willingness to pick/play it but especially because it is GODSENT's typical map choice.

Zywoo - $15,000 (c) - Writing about Zywoo as a captain play almost feels like cheating, it's so easy. 2019's #1 player has been playing incredibly well of late (even for his lofty standards). Through the group stages, Zywoo was easily the best player in the whole event. In the two series that Vitality played they didn't drop a map and Zywoo is an absolutely insane +40 K/D with an astounding rating of 1.64!

While it would be fair to expect his rating to drop a bit closer to his average as the event progresses and Vitality plays stronger teams, this is not the match to fade him. These two lineups have faced off once, about 3 weeks ago, and Zywoo absolutely dominated finishing 64-41 overall in a 2-1 series win for Vitality.

Other captain plays: Brollan, mantuu, stavn, KRIMZ

CS:GO DFS Value Plays

RPK - $6,200 - So remember when I said that Vitality has been doing great and Zywoo was the #1 rated player of the event? What if I went one further and said they also had the #2 rated player as well? RPK is sitting at well above his average with a 1.47 event rating currently through 4 maps. Looking back at the series Vitality and Heroic played a few weeks ago, RPK was the Robin to Zywoo's Batman in that series as well, going +10 K/D and leading the series is ADR. Playing RPK will certainly be a bit risky, but at his basement low price, he's a great option to help save salaries.

mantuu $8,400 - OG has been a bit up and down with their results from event to event as of late, but it looks like Summit is an event the whole team is showing up for. Mantuu is the team's primary sniper and has been the one putting up huge numbers in OG's first two matches of the event going +34 K/D over their pair of 2-1 series wins. These teams have never played each other head to head, so with no prior experience to work with, teams will likely play more of a default style since they won't want to take uncalculated risks. This should result in a heavy workload for mantuu, and he could very well be the key for OG to keep their momentum rolling.

Other value plays: Xantares, nawwk, shox, Aleksib, zehN, cadiaN

Top CS:GO DFS Stacks

BIG - BIG are known as one of the most tactically structured teams in the world, and will be the favorites even though they are coming from the elimination series. GODSENT has recently undergone a roster change, and while they looked strong in their first 2 matches, it gives BIG a chance to break down GODSENT's tendencies. GODSENT would really need to step up across the team as individuals for a chance to take down BIG, since we can safely assume they will have the advantage in terms of in-game strategy and coordination.

Vitality - Vitality has moved up to #2 in the world rankings this past week, as a result of their great form and back to back top 2 finishes at the BLAST series events. Heroic are a spunky up and coming team, but they were unable to overcome Vitality's talent and experience 3 weeks ago in their last match. Since then Vitality has only gotten better and shown great results against the best teams in the world. While I do think the series won't be a blowout, and could very well go to a 3rd map, Vitality should be able to edge out the Danish side once more.

Other stacks/teams: Both the OG/North series and Fnatic/NiP series feel like they could go either but OG and Fnatic are the two teams I would target after BIG and Vitality
