ANALYSIS: The Dallas Cowboys rolled onto the field in Week 1 against the New York Giants with multiple starting rookies in very important positions. One of which includes rookie quarterback Dak Prescott. While Prescott impressed with some of his decision making, his numbers in the end did not look too solid. However, it is important to look at the game trends and what transpired in the four quarters that we have seen so far. One of Prescott's favorite targets turned out to be Cole Beasley.
Cole caught eight passes for 65 yards and was the Cowboy's leading wide receiver with 12 targets in Sunday's contest against the Giants. He was a pesky player on the field and showed some flashes that looked Wes Welker-esque. Beasley became Dak's security blanket over the middle and made some nice plays for first downs. It is also important to note that without Tony Romo, Dez Bryant's production historically drops off and was only targeted five times all game.
Look for Dak to find Beasley in the flat especially while he figures out the league. Beasley should be picked up and treated as a WR flex with the potential of WR2 upside.
