BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo was a popular offseason sleeper candidate. The Titans had a young receiving core – led by Okonkwo and Treylon Burks. Therefore, fantasy players thought the two second-year players could have solid fantasy seasons with a high target share. That changed when the team signed DeAndre Hopkins.
Okonkwo has had a disappointing year. He is the TE26 for the season, averaging only 4.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the tight end is a popular streaming candidate for Week 14. Okonkwo is coming off his best performance of the year, scoring 7.9 fantasy points in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
While the RotoBaller rankings aren’t fans of the young tight end this week, I think he’s an appealing option. Okonkwo has had seven receptions on 11 targets for 107 receiving yards and 14.4 fantasy points over the past two weeks. Will Levis is starting to lean on his talented tight end.
After averaging 4.3 targets per game with Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis under center, Okonkwo has averaged 4.7 per with the rookie quarterback. He has seen at least four targets in all but one game with Levis. The matchup tonight against the Miami Dolphins is solid, making Okonkwo a startable low-end TE1 in my book.
