CBLOL DFS Picks for 4/17/20: DraftKings League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Dan Palyo's League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for CBLOL slate on 4/17/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to my League of Legends DFS column here at RotoBaller! We will continue to extend our analysis for LoL DFS across different leagues and sites, bringing you the insight you need to succeed. Thanks once again for the outpouring of support from the DFS and ESports communities.

Today we are proud to be offering our first coverage of the CBLOL (Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends). This is the Brazilian professional league for LOL and it looks like DraftKings is going to run contests for the remainder of their spring season. They had about a month with no games due to the COVID-19 epidemic and now they back in full swing. There are no published starting lineups for these matches and there's not nearly as much coverage for this league, so I am going to do my best to put you in a good position when you go to make some lineups for this slate with all the information I can find!

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for the CBLOL slate on DraftKings that locks at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 17th, 2020. Remember these are one-game series and not best of three like we are used to seeing in LPL and LCK, or best of five like we are currently seeing in the LEC and LCS playoffs.

12:00 PM: FURIA Uppercut (7-8) vs. Prodigy Esports (8-7)

Vegas Line: Prodigy -155

Something to keep in mind for all these matches today is that the blue side has had a huge advantage in the CBLOL this split. The blue side gets to draft first and remember, these are one-game matches where the draft can play a huge role in the outcome.

This game is a battle between the fourth-place Prodigy team and the fifth-place FURIA team. Only four teams advance to the playoffs in the CBLOL, and with only a few games left this split, this one has some major playoff implications.

These teams have split their season series so far, with both teams winning on blue. Prodigy will be on the blue side today, where they are 7-2 this split, while FURIA is on red which they've struggled to a 1-6 record in this split. While their records are similar, Prodigy have better team stats in nearly every category and I'll definitely be stacking them up in this matchup.

FURIA usual starters: Tyrin (TOP), Minerva (JNG), Anyyy (MID), Alternative (ADC), Damage (SUP)

Prodigy usual starters: fNb (TOP), Yampi (JNG), Aloned (MID), Garo (ADC), Wos (SUP)

Recommendation: Prodigy is one of my top stacks today and they are priced very fairly as only the fourth most expensive team on the slate. Aloned (MID - 7200), Yampi (JNG - 6200), and Wos (SUP - 5600) are all elite plays for me as they lead Prodigy in kill participation.

12:50 AM: paiN Gaming (9-6) vs. INTZ (6-9)

Vegas Line: paiN Gaming -180

paiN Gaming is currently in third place in the CBLOL and has beaten this INTZ team twice already this split. While INTZ has the advantage of being on blue in this match, it might not matter as much here as paiN has a better team and a better record than most on red this season as they are 4-4 on that side.

INTZ is 4-3 on blue but failed to beat paiN earlier this year while on blue and they should probably be bigger underdogs than just -180 based on paiN's superior statistics. They lead the CBLOL in kill-to-death ratio at 1.3, first blood percentage at 69%, and early game rating at 58.4.

paiN usual starters: yang (TOP), SeongHwan (JNG), tinowns (MID), brTT (ADC), Key (SUP)

INTZ usual starters: Tianci (TOP), Shini (JNG), Hauz (MID), micaO (ADC), RedBert (SUP)

Recommendation: paiN is an elite stack in all formats for me. Their history against this team makes me want to buck the trend of siding with teams on blue today. Tinowns (MID - 7600), SeongHwan (JNG - 6800), and key (SUP - 5400) are a core stack for me on this slate.

1:50 PM: Redemption eSports PO (4-11) vs. KaBuM! e-Sports (5-10)

Vegas Line: KaBuM -275

Here we have a matchup of the two cellar-dwellers of the CBLOL as these two teams are at the bottom of the standings. Both teams are top three in deaths per game, so whichever team wins this one should be able to rack up a lot of kills.

KaBum is the biggest favorite on the slate despite being only one game better in the standings. These teams have split their first two meetings this split, with each team winning while on the blue side.

Today, Redemption gets to be on blue and that could make a huge difference for me here since KaBum is 0-8 while on red this split. This could be a place for some major leverage as I would expect KaBum to be very popular based on the odds.

KaBum players are priced the highest of any team on the slate, which shows that DraftKings basically used the odds only when pricing the teams since they are one of the worst teams in the league.

Redemption usual starters: Glowcore (TOP), Sephis (JNG), Krastyel (MID), Patrick (ADC), BocaJR (SUP)

KaBuM usual starters: Parang (TOP), Wiz (JNG), Tutsz (MID), Disave (ADC), Ceos (SUP)

Recommendation: I don't think you need either of these teams necessarily, but I would much rather play Redemption as a cheap underdog than pay top dollar for a bad Kabum team even if this a potentially bloody, winnable game. 0-8 on red is a fairly large sample size for me, so I will fade KaBuM and hope they are popular.

2:30 PM Vivo Keyd (11-4) vs. Flamengo eSports (10-5)

Vegas Line: Keyd -120, Flamengo -115

This game features the top two teams in the CBLOL as Vivo sits in first place and Flamengo is currently in second place. These are the top two teams in CKPM (combined kills per minute) in the league, so this game has the potential to be a bloody one, which is exactly what we are looking for in DFS.

The Vegas data suggests this game is basically a pick 'em. They have split their first two meetings this split, with both teams winning when they were on the blue side. Flamengo is on blue in this one, and they have better team stats almost across the board. They are 7-1 on blue this split, while Vivo is only 4-4 on red.

Vivo usual starters: Robo (TOP), Grell (JNG), NOsFerus (MID), Klaus (ADC), Professor (SUP)

Flamengo usual starters: WoofE (TOP, Ranger (JNG), Goku (MID), Absolute (ADC), Jojo (SUP) ***Jojo has started the last three matches***

Recommendation: I lean Flamengo here with Absolute, (ADC - 7200) and Ranger, (JNG -6400) being my favorite plays. Both teams are viable stacks in GPPs, but the prices are slightly cheaper on Flamengo.
