CBB DFS: Main DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (3/5/24)

Zach Edey - CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

Today's main DraftKings CBB DFS lineup picks for 3/5/24. Mike's top daily fantasy college basketball sleepers to build winning NCAA DFS lineups on DraftKings.

It's Super Tuesday and DraftKings is backing up that billing. We have 16 games across two slates with a nice split of 10 games and a six-game nightcap. We will start with the 10-game main slate breakdown, but I won't leave you hanging! I'm around for the night slate, too.

Most of the games start at the same time with Bama Gator hunting in Gainesville, Ole Miss in Athens, Providence in D.C. to face Georgetown, Purdue in Champaign, Syracuse in Clemson for Orange supremacy, Virginia Tech in Louisville, and Notre Dame at Chapel Hill. The other three games are a little later, but all feature Big 12 heavyweights. Cincinnati is in Norman, Texas Tech is in Stillwater, and K-State heads to the Phog.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks on DraftKings on 3/5/24, starting at 7 p.m. EST. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Devin Carter, Providence ($9.4K)

If it feels like I write up Carter for every slate, I probably have. Or...I have since January 6 when Bryce Hopkins went down. Carter has averaged 43.7 DraftKings points per game without Hopkins. 49.5 of those came in the first meeting against Georgetown on January 27. Providence isn't much better than the middle of the Big East to go around blowing out anyone. The games stay close, which means Carter maintains that high floor and significant upside in every contest.

Kevin McCullar, Kansas ($7.6K)

This feels cheap for McCullar, who has spent every game since the Maui Invitational comfortably over the $8K price threshold. He missed two weeks with a knee injury, but played 32 minutes and scored 31.75 DraftKings points in his return against a good Baylor team on the road. There didn't seem to be any lingering effects. McCullar looked good even if he was a little light on the assists. He's too talented to be this cheap. I'll take a chance on him in any matchup for this price.

Rivaldo Soares, Oklahoma ($5.6K)

I'm all in on Soares for this price. He doesn't have that ceiling that some do, but Soares has between 23 and 27 DraftKings points in six straight games. He kept his streak going against the two best defenses not just in his conference, but in all of college basketball (Houston and Iowa State). In Soares, I trust...definitely in cash games. I can't think of a good reason not to use him in any format.

Blue Cain, Georgia ($4.6K)

Cain made his second consecutive start against A&M, but his minutes haven't significantly increased. However, the production has. Cain has 19 points, six rebounds, three steals, and an assist over 41 minutes in those two games. All of those numbers except the assists are well above his season averages. Cain has 34.5 DraftKings points in those games, so as long as he continues to start, he feels like a solid value play.

Also consider: Mark Sears, Alabama ($8.8K); Markus Burton, Notre Dame ($8K); Walter Clayton Jr., Florida ($7.4K); Dajuan Harris Jr., Kansas ($6.5K); Noah Thomasson, Georgia ($6.2K); Ticket Gaines, Providence ($5.9K); Jay Heath, Georgetown ($5.1K); Justin Harmon, Illinois ($4.9K); Riley Kugel, Florida ($4.2K); J.R. Konieczny, Notre Dame ($3.7K)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Zach Edey, Purdue ($11K)

Again, I'm not going to be the guy to tell you not to play Edey. However, I will offer a bit of information here. Do with it what you will. Edey played just 23 minutes in the first game against Illinois thanks to foul trouble...in a home game. Fans of opposing teams have accused officials of being more lenient to Edey at home, but I think everyone complains about that. Fans will be fans.

Edey still posted a double-double in those 23 minutes, but he didn't quite crack 40 DraftKings points. The upside is that if he plays his normal 30-35 minutes, he might hit 60. You know the old DFS adage...we can't play for foul trouble. Edey has only committed four fouls four times in 29 games and hasn't fouled out this season. Do with that information what you will.

Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, Louisville ($7.3K)

Huntley-Hatfield has been the only bright spot in Louisville's late-season collapse. The Cardinals haven't won a game since February 10. Don't blame Huntley-Hatfield. He has at least 25 DraftKings points in all but one game since the start of February. He is averaging 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals per game in that span. BHH is playing well even if the rest of the team isn't.

David N'Guessan, Kansas State ($5.9K)

Like Soares, N'Guessan's consistency in the toughest conference commands respect. Unlike Soares, N'Guessan has a more varied outcome in DraftKings points because he is not as polished offensively on a team dominated by guards. N'Guessan has at least 18 DraftKings points in seven straight games, including 18.75 in the first meeting against Kansas. He's not going to break a slate, but he won't be an anchor to your lineup either.

Dylan James, Georgia ($4.1K)

Georgia is a young team, so in some respects, they are still throwing things at the wall (or court, in this case). James is one of those things. He has averaged 4.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 assists in 17.3 minutes over the last four games. He's solid on both ends of the court. Georgia's lack of a frontcourt presence has been a problem at times. James's role could continue to grow.

Also consider: Hunter Dickinson, Kansas ($8.6K); Josh Oduro, Providence ($8.1K); Marcus Domask, Illinois ($7.7K); Tyrese Samuel, Florida ($7.2K); Jaemyn Brakefield, Mississippi ($6.9K); Aziz Bandaogo, Cincinnati ($6.4K); Nick Pringle, Alabama ($5.5K); Carey Booth, Notre Dame ($5.3K); Jamarion Sharp, Mississippi ($4.7K); Jerrell Colbert, Kansas State ($4.4K); Rich Barron, Providence ($4K)
