CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/28/24)

Zach Edey - CBB DFS Picks, NCAA Daily College Fantasy Basketball

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS lineup picks for 1/28/24. Mike's top daily fantasy college basketball sleepers to build winning NCAA DFS lineups on DraftKings.

We have a nice Sunday of college basketball before the NFL takes over for conference championship games. The top two teams are both in action today, along with three other ranked squads, and that's not including New Mexico playing tonight. The Big East starts us off in Storrs with Xavier in town. Purdue and Rutgers tip the afternoon off from Piscataway.

The American takes over the rest of the slate with four games from that conference. North Texas is in Boca Raton to take on Florida Atlantic. Next up is SMU heading up I-35 to Wichita to take on the Shockers. We end the slate with Temple taking on East Carolina and Memphis in Birmingham taking on UAB.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/28/24, starting at noon Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Tristen Newton, Connecticut ($8,600)

Newton stacked up 46 DraftKings points in the first meeting against Xavier in Cincinnati. His awful mid-December run is a distant memory now. Newton has at least 30 DraftKings points in five straight games, including a game against Georgetown in which he only made two shots from the field. He's putting up some nice peripheral stats right now, giving him the highest floor on the slate. An already big game against Xavier this year shows the possibility of a ceiling game.

Lance Jones, Purdue ($6,500)

Zach Edey and Braden Smith get most of the attention, but Jones is a strong player in his own right. He has scored in double figures in every January game and has at least 25 DraftKings points in each of the last four games. Jones provides a way to get exposure to Purdue without breaking the bank. His floor and ceiling aren't that far apart though, so he might be better served in cash lineups.

Harlond Beverly, Wichita State ($5,600)

Beverly has scored at least 15 points in three of the last four games. He has found his stroke again just in time for conference play. Beverly does most of his damage with efficient scoring, but his good passing and rebounding skills keep the floor high most of the time. Beverly had big games in the non-conference schedule against Missouri and San Diego State. He can handle SMU.

John Buggs III, North Texas ($4,600)

Buggs is instant offense off of the North Texas bench. He has scored a dozen points in each of the last three games. All 12 made shots were three-pointers. In fact, he only took two shots out of 20 from inside the arc in those three games. He's dialed in right now, but Buggs is best left for GPP usage. He does little aside from score, so if he goes cold from the floor, we're in trouble.

Also consider: Johnell Davis, Florida Atlantic ($8,800); Braden Smith, Purdue ($8,300); Alijah Martin, Florida Atlantic ($7,400); Jason Edwards, North Texas ($6,800); Jahlil White, Temple ($6,300); Nick Boyd, Florida Atlantic ($5.900); Bryan Greenlee, Florida Atlantic ($5,100); Rondel Walker, North Texas ($4,400); Noah Fernandes, Rutgers ($4,000)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Zach Edey, Purdue ($10,900)

Michigan didn't slow Edey down. Well...I guess they did by losing by 32 points. Edey played just 25 minutes in the big win and got his customary double-double. That broke a string of huge games for Edey, but he still hit 33.5 DraftKings points. That kind of floor plays in any lineup, but if Purdue runs off with this game again, Edey will sink GPP lineups. His exorbitant price makes him far less of a risk in cash games. David Jones is my man in GPPs.

Clifford Omoruyi, Rutgers ($7,400)

Omoruyi just spent the last two games getting the best of Nebraska's Rienk Mast and Illinois' Coleman Hawkins. He put up 75.5 DraftKings points in those two games. Purdue is going to win this game. Probably by a large margin. That doesn't mean that Omoruyi won't hit value. If he goes after Edey the same way he did Mast and Hawkins, he could end up with another nice stat line.

Malcolm Dandridge, Memphis ($6,100)

Dandridge had by far his best game of the season against Tulane last weekend. He put up 13 points, eight rebounds, an assist, a steal, and eight blocks. No one else has the ceiling he does in this price range, but Dandridge is a major risk. He averages under 20 DraftKings points per game even after this huge performance. This is a plus matchup against UAB. Can lightning strike twice?

Dailyn Swain, Xavier ($4,700)

This is not an easy matchup for the freshman, but he held his own against the trees for Georgetown and Creighton over the last couple of games. Swain had 16 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and four blocks in 47 minutes in those two games. Gytis Nemeiksa might regain his starting job, but Swain should see more minutes regardless. There is a lot of upside here. When someone picks up a couple of blocks against Creighton, I pay attention.

Also consider: David Jones, Memphis ($9,200); Vladislav Goldin, Florida Atlantic ($6,800); Samuell Williamson, SMU ($6,600); Donovan Clingan, Connecticut ($6,500); Aundre Hyatt, Rutgers ($6,200); Robert Allen, North Texas ($5,900); Christian Coleman, UAB ($4,700)
