Braelon Allen fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 5 (2024). Should you start or sit Braelon Allen for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB4
ANALYSIS: It's too easy to get swept up in the "He's gonna take over the backfield, he's better than the starter" narratives, but don't let it happen. Especially not before an international game against one of the best defenses in the NFL. The New York Jets will take on the Minnesota Vikings in London this Sunday.
Breece Hall is the starter and Braelon Allen is the backup. That won't change anytime soon. And an offense that just got demolished by the Denver Broncos defense -- as good as it is -- will now go on the road to another country. It's hard to trust in big plays.
and this is why offenses are hesitant to pull players in the run game when going against the Viking defense.

The Vikings defense has allowed just 3.8 yards per carry to opposing running backs. Pretty brutal stuff. Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores has his squad firing on all cylinders and destroying opposing offenses. It allows just 16.9 PPR fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season, the fourth fewest in the league.
Allen would need to have the game of his life to be fantasy-relevant, and it's unclear what kind of volume he'll get anyway. It's much safer to leave him on the bench for now. The odds are massively stacked against him and the Jets offense.
